For:
it is used to describe a period of time such as 35 minutes, 5 weeks, or 5 years.
Examples:
- I used to study for 50 minutes a day.
- Ann hasn’t seen her parents for 10 years.
- They have been teaching us for 3 weeks.
- She lived in the USA for 4 months.
